The HeartStart battery for the Philips OnSite defibrillator is a long-lasting lithium battery that can typically last for 4 years when installed. It is designed to keep the AED in a “ready to use” condition and to run important self-tests. However, using the AED during an emergency rescue or training activity may shorten the battery life. This battery has the capacity to deliver at least 200 shocks or provide 4 hours of patient monitoring.
